The house loomed over the ruins of the small town. It rested atop a small hill, just enough so that it didn’t have to be included in the town. A light was on in one of the rooms, a curtain turned the light red and gave the house an eerie look. Even the crows, who were picking the remains of the deceased, dared not look up at the house in fear of what they might see. The moon was high in the sky and glowed red. It was a bad omen. One the town couldn’t avoid. The trees were naked and bare, dead both inside and out. The branches twisted up towards the house, offering empty hands.
The crows cawed loudly, landing on broken houses and taking off into flight. A thick fog rolled in through the town and stayed for a visit. It seeped through the wooden houses and made itself at home. The crows eyes glowed red in the fog. They cawed again and the fog responded with silence. One crow landed on an abandoned wheel. It made the mistake of looking at the house on the hill. The light that shone red flickered and a curtain was moved. A black figure shifted through the darkness. Inside the house there was dust and decay. Rotting of wood and creaky floors. A long dark hallway with pictures of gaunt looking people. They stared into the darkness, their eyes blank and cold. The stairs creaked when pressure was applied. They creaked now, but nothing was visible to make them to so.
In the room with the light a shadow moved. A man coughed, laying in a red velvet bed. Sickened with plague, he looked wearily at the door. It opened slightly and he thought his cat must have opened it. But his cat had died days ago, and was now buried in the back yard. Orbs floated around the room, reflecting the light from the candle that burned.
The candle, the man thought through his cloudy mind, a representation of life and its inevitable end. He moved his head to look at the candle beside him. Had he lit it? He could not remember. It was flickering from a draft. The wax pooled onto the floor, dripping and forming shapes on the carpet. He knew that it was almost the end for the candle. And it was almost the end for him as well. He coughed some more and blood spewed from his cracked lips. It was almost time.
The floor creaked in front of him and he saw another shadow move across the room. The ghost had haunted him even in his dreams. He looked at it with weary eyes, but he could not see it. The bed sagged and breathed as the ghost neared him. He blinked, his eyes were watery yet dry. Blood and spittle wet his beard as he coughed once again. He felt the cold bitterness on his nose and he looked up with old eyes to see nothing. The hairs on the back of his neck rose. It was there, sitting beside him, on his red velvet bed. But he couldn’t see it. He could only see the faint impression of a shape on the bed and how it curved slightly around the invisible body.
He welcomed it, the ghost that haunted him even in his dreams, and as he turned his head slightly he saw it. The flicker, a glimpse perhaps, of a face that matched his. He looked into its eyes briefly, for not even a second.
The candle extinguished.

Let’s make JOSEPH KONY Famous!!
Who is JOSEPH KONY?
He is THE WORST LIVING CRIMINAL. He abducts children and makes them use guns to kill their own parents. He takes girls and forces them to be sex slaves. He calls his abducted children the Lord’s Resistance Army, AKA the LRA. He has abducted over 30,000 children and forced them to be child soldiers in Central Africa. He remains at large because he is INVISIBLE to the world. FEW know his name, even FEWER know his crimes. WE ARE MAKING HIM FAMOUS! Because when he is, the world will unite against him and demand his arrest.
We can help make a change. We can make a difference.
I feel so inspired. I feel the need to help and make a difference. This has to happen in 2012. We can’t let him go around and keep doing this to children in Central Africa. Let’s make his name known so he can be stopped. HE CAN NO LONGER BE INVISIBLE!

please watch this and don’t click “like”, click “reblog”.
I’m excited that this video has been reblogged over 2,000 times, and I’m really bummed that only 3 of my actual friends have reblogged it. Maybe it’s because I posted it late last night, so I’m putting it out there again.
I’m talking specifically to my friends and the people who follow me that haven’t reblogged this. Please watch. It’s important. Don’t just hit “like”. Pass it on. I’ll get back to posting my usual stupid, goofy pics and videos later, but for now, this is more important.
and for those of you who have watched and passed it on, thank you!
Jokes later.
Warning: This video containts disturbing imagery/concepts, so heads up if you’re not in a place to handle something heavy right now. But please consider it!
If you’ve got half an hour to spare, this is a really informative, well-made video about a serious problem happening in Uganda right now.
Not only is it raising awareness of a real problem, but it’s also an excellent example of how powerful the internet can be in an extremely positive way, and how lucky we are to live in a day and age where we can reach out and make a difference easier than ever before.
A common mindset is that the farther away something is from you, the less you can affect it. It makes logical sense to think that way, but we all know that the invention of the internet is the exception to the rule. So! Think about it
Lemony Snicket All The Wrong Questions?…. maybe?

I want to read at least 60 books this year. I’ve already finished one (Faceless Killers by Henning Mankell) and I am currently reading The Snowman by Jo Nesbø, The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larsson, and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy by John le Carré.
I would like some more books to read. Does anyone have recommendations? They can be any genre. (My favorites are fantasy, sci-fi, horror and mystery.) I’d like to read something that I haven’t before. It can be a play (No Shakespeare, since I’ve read all of his works) or a series of novels. Anything is welcome.
I want you to recommend some music to me!
I’m specifically looking for classical, orchestral and incidental music that is epic, beautiful or sad. Choral/operatic or instrumental is fine, just make sure it has a ton of impact!

Forever.
Reblogging because good poster design.
I’ve never gotten over you, and I never will.
As Toastyfrog put it, Cowboy Bebop was the both best thing and the worst thing to happen to anime for me. Best for obvious reasons, worst because it meant that from that point on, I wouldn’t settle for less.
It also showed me that drawn characters could *act*, and that music and drawn visuals could make something greater than the sum of their parts.
It’s influenced my art and writing in a huge way, kind of given me a certain level to strive for.
